Students celebrate another set of good results

Students at The Trafalgar School at Downton are celebrating another good set of GCSE results today with many outstanding individual achievements.

Headteacher, Jy Taylor, commented: “We are so proud of all of our Year 11 students who have experienced unprecedented challenges during their secondary school education. It is easy to forget that these young people confronted a world pandemic, the challenges associated with returning to normality and well-known difficulties for some with regard to attendance, as well as a GCSE journey in Year 10 which was punctuated by national industrial action. The results they receive today are a testament to their dedication and hard work. As always amongst the celebrations and success there are some students who have not achieved the grades that they had hoped for. However, I am confident that the character and values they have developed over their 5 years at Trafalgar will enable them to overcome future hurdles and that every one of them will go on to be incredibly successful.

The success of our students is shared also by their parents and our staff who should not be forgotten and have supported these children throughout their 5 years with us at Trafalgar. We wish them all well as they move on to the next phase of their education and we are proud to now be able to call them Trafalgar Alumni.”
