200 Minions take over Downton Baptist Church

At the end of July, masses of ‘minions’ gathered at DBC for the annual Holiday Club. Children from the local primary schools came together for a time of singing, crafts, games and mind-scrambling challenges. Borrowing the theme from the popular film about Gru, Dr Nefario and their minion friends, the church was transformed into the super villain’s lair.

Phil and Katy said: “This year we were following the story of the lost sheep, and everyone discovered just how important they are to God. As always, Holiday Club came to a spectacular end with an epic water fight on the church field. No minion was left un-soaked!!”

The club ended with the families gathering together in the church garden for a sun-bathed picnic.
