Downton Band

Downton Band’s biggest event this year, the New Forest Show, took place at the end of July. The musicians played in extremely hot weather on the show’s Village Green and thoroughly enjoyed seeing some familiar faces who came along to support them at this 3 day event. They are looking forward to returning next year.

A small number of players also entertained at The Borough Dental Practice's open afternoon. The Band is very grateful to the Practice - also to The Downton Brewery - for their continued support this year. In August, the band again entered the entertainment contest at The White Horse Pub, Stourpaine where on each Sunday night through the summer a different band plays. They are currently awaiting the results. Autumn rehearsals have already started for the Wessex Contest, The Harvest Festival at St Laurence Church and Remembrance Sunday - leading up to the Christmas festive season.
