Downton Parish councillors needed:

Elections for the Parish Council are due to be held on Thursday 6 May, the same date as elections for Wiltshire Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner.

The Parish Council currently meets on the evening of the second Monday each month and councillors represent the community and take decisions on a range of issues. Full training is provided for all new members.

There are vacancies for 14 parish councillors for the village of Downton plus a further councillor for the Charlton All Saints ward, and elections will take place if there are more nominations than there are vacancies.

For more information about being a councillor, contact the clerk, Bev Cornish, email clerk@downtonparishcouncil.gov.uk or call 513874.

Nomination forms can be found on the electoral commission website, electoralcommission.org.uk, or from Wiltshire Council at The Council Offices, Bourne Hill, Salisbury or call 0300 456 0112.
