Downton's own pop-up mask tree

Some of Downton's sewing community have been busy during the lockdown.  Many people have got involved and made scrubs, scrub bags, face masks, and ear-savers  - which have been centrally distributed to settings in need from a 'hub' in Salisbury.  The focus has now shifted to making face-masks to give out to members of the public in exchange for a small donation.  The recent Pop Up Mask Tree in Downton raised £92 for Naomi House and Jacksplace.  The group are hoping to pop up again (next time with more male mask designs).  The Mask Tree also 'popped up' in Woodfalls recently.

Masks are provided in exchange for a cash-only donation of £2.  Safety regulations are in operation so that social distancing is observed and people are asked to anti-bac their hands before touching anything. It is advised that you wash your new masks before use.

The group would appreciate donations of new cotton/ washable/coloured material and elastic to help them keep sewing.  The fabric should be dense weave, and washable at 60°.  The pieces do not need to be large, as offcuts of anything bigger than 30cm by 30cm would work.
If you would like to sew - or can help in any way - you are invited to join the Downton and Woodfalls Mask Tree Facebook group
