The Wooden Spoon
The Wooden Spoon will be re-opened, as from 4 July at 12 noon. You should book in if you can, and need to state whether or not you will be eating, or just having a drink. The maximum number that can be booked in per party is 6 people, unless they are from 2 households - in which case it is 12 people maximum. Tables can be booked by telephone on 511899. Contact details will be taken from every customer entering the premises, although all details will remain confidential and will be disposed of after 21 days. There will be hand sanitising points at the doors of the pub and hand washing facilities in available in the toilets, so customers are asked to use these upon entry and as often as required. People should remain in their seats as far as is possible, and let the staff serve them at tables. These arrangements are the conditions that the pub has to adhere to in order to open.
The team say: "We can't wait to show you the pub, as we have been working really hard during lockdown, not only keeping you supplied with deliveries but giving the pub a new lick of paint. You will spot new tables and benches in the snug which we have had made from the 127 year old tree that came down in the garden 2 years ago with the steel work kindly done by Excess Engineering in Downton. Recycling and keeping it local at it's best! We look forward to seeing you all very soon, so take care and be safe at The Wooden Spoon."
Deliveries will still be available until end of July, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings 6 till 8.30pm and Sunday lunch 12 till 2.45pm
