Helping families

The local family charity is seeing an increase in referrals, but is nevertheless encouraged that families feel able to reach out for help.   Representatives have been visiting local schools and pre schools to say hello and introduce themselves and are pleased to be able to offer support where it is needed.  The community continues to provide welcome support to the charity via its various fundraising initiatives - the Co-op community scheme; booking charity cars for weddings, proms and special occasions; buying goodies from the shop.  More information from downton4family.org.uk

D4F continues to collect donations from the Co-op, with the valuable support of Paul and the team which never waivers. You have probably noticed the collection point  - please think about adding a little something to it. Anyone in need of a food parcel and who has an authorised voucher is now able to collect from Downton Baptist Church on a Monday between 9 and 11am.

Arrive at your event in style

A reminder from Downton 4 Family that you can book a car for your special occasion - and the fee will go directly to the charity.  Charity Cars have two cars available to hire for any special occasion such as weddings, proms, anniversaries and birthdays.  The cars are lovingly restored by owner and chauffeur Ray. Monty (the Rolls Royce) and Daisy (the vintage Austin) are at your service!  Weddings include travel from your house to the ceremony and then to the reception.  Based on travel with Hampshire and South Wiltshire, the suggested donation for weddings is £250,  and £75 for proms and anniversary meals.

Thanks to the Co-op

D4F was delighted to have received over £2000 from last years Co-op Local Community Fund.  Pictured here are trustees Katy, Debbie & Programme Leader Helen, celebrating the receipt of the funds with Co-op staff.
