On-line shop is up and running
Downton 4 Family, the local charity which helps support families, has launched an online shop to raise much needed funds. COVID 19 has meant that the charity's services are more in demand than ever, whilst at the same time making it hard to raise the necessary funds. New Forest Chocolates have come to the rescue by selecting D4F as their chosen charity for 2021 so the new shop is currently featuring lots of handmade chocolate. The chocolate lasts for several months so if you wish to place a bulk order (over £30) you will qualify for a bonus free bar.
The charity has also partnered with another small independent producer, New Forest Aromatics, and now includes candles and 'bath and body' goodies in its range. Last date for Mother's Day orders for these is midnight on Sunday 7th March - orders will be available for collection on Tuesday 9th March.
You can collect your purchases from either The Downton Butchery, Stable and Wick or The Horse and Groom in Woodgreen so just choose which one is most convenient to you on checkout.
Whatever your requirements - if you are looking at splashing out for Mother’s Day (March 14th) or Easter (April 4th) - or simply wish to add a little joy over Lockdown you can access the shop by clicking here.
The charity is very grateful to Lizzie and Simon Skinner, the team behind New Forest Chocolates, to New Forest Aromatics and to all their collection point partners.
Downton 4 Family have been hugely supported through these tough months by the Downton Co-op and the food bank initiative.
They would like to extend a big thank you to the Co-op, their staff and all those people who have supported the food bank collection point at the Downton Co-op. The Co-op has been working with The Trussell Trust and Downton Baptist Church to provide this service. In excess of 460kg of food (the weight of an average horse) has been delivered to The Trussell Trust, to be packed into balanced food parcels which have then been distributed to the local families supported by the charity.
