About the event
Ron Burrows joined the Royal Air Force in 1962 and subsequently flew support missions in the Middle East. In 1970, he graduated from the US Navy Test Pilot School in Maryland. Following his return to Boscombe Down, he tested RAF fast jets and trainers, including Tornados, Jaguars and Harriers. He also worked for NATO and went on to become the RAF’s Chief Test Pilot and Head of the Test Pilot School at Boscombe Down.
The talk will cover his experiences of flying and testing fast jets during this period, including two occasions when he ejected from aircraft.
Tickets cost £5 and are available from Borough Café or on the door.
