Goose Fair

The fair was established in 2010 to celebrate Michaelmas and originally featured a goose parade through the village. Although the parade is no longer part of the event, the fair continues to be held annually at St Laurence Church, attracting villagers and visitors from the surrounding areas.

This year the fair will include new stalls, such as Fordingbridge Fudge and Rosie’s Dream Shop, alongside returning stallholders including Lisa Parris and Sheila Green with her range of jams and preserves. Light lunches, cakes, and refreshments will be available throughout the event. Local charities, including Downton Link and the Stars Appeal, will also be present.

Parking will be available courtesy of the Catholic Church and Downton Moot. Organisers are seeking donations of cakes and volunteers to assist on the day. Those interested in helping, either by running a stall or providing cakes, are invited to contact Rose Bloomfield at downtongoosefair@gmail.com.
