Horticultural Society Summer Show

Admission is free, and you are invited to come and view the many exhibits of sweet peas, roses, pot plants etc, as well as the floral arrangements. This show also has an art section for any painting, and a photography section in which the two classes are ‘beautiful Downton’ and ‘New Forest View’. The Society is grateful to Downton Primary School for allowing them to exhibit things made by the children out of recycled materials, as part of their Eco-schools initiative. There will also be refreshments, a sales table and a raffle, and prize giving at 4:15pm.

If you would like to enter an exhibit in the show then details of all the classes are in the Show Schedules available from any committee member including Chris Parry, ‘Cymbeline’, 51 The Borough, Downton (opposite the Co-op)  5145511. New exhibitors are always welcome. It costs 25p per entry and for most classes the first prize is £1 and the second prize 50p.  There are also trophies for some classes. Entry forms must be in by 8pm on the Wednesday before the show and the exhibit brought along to the hall on the Friday evening or Saturday morning.
