Horticultural Society Summer Show

Admission to  view the many exhibits of sweet peas, roses, pot plants etc, as well as the floral arrangements is free. There is also an art section of paintings  and photographs with a theme of ‘Along the River’ and ‘Summertime’. Downton Primary School are exhibiting single-stem flowers made from upcycled packaging, as part of their Eco-schools initiative. There will also be refreshments, a sales table and a raffle, and prize giving at 4.15pm.

If you would like to enter an exhibit in the show then details of all the classes are in the Show Schedules available from any committee member including Chris Parry, ‘Cymbeline’, 51 The Borough, Downton (opposite the Co-op)  5145511. New exhibitors are always welcome. It costs 25p per entry and for most classes the first prize is £1 and the second prize 50p.  There are also trophies for some classes.
