Downton Memorial Hall, The Borough, Downton, Salisbury SP5 3NB, UK

About the event

Bring along spare seeds and plants and swap them for someone else’s spares. Swapping is not essential - you can just see what you would like from what’s on offer (for a small donation). In addition you will be able to buy small quantities of packeted seeds from supplier “More Veg” and take advantage of a mobile tool sharpening service.  The local allotments association will be there to advise - as will a volunteer or two from The Garden at Downton Baptist Church. For those who would like to get planting straight away you will be able to plant your own nasturtium seeds.

There will be more than just seeds, including practical ideas and suggestions for living more sustainably. Lover Repair Cafe will be there, and there will be representatives from a local bike repair service. Jim Butt will have advice on keeping chickens. The Fordingbridge refill shop, The Green Gram, will be giving tips on how to shop ‘plastic-free’ and Downton Co-op will have information about their steps towards sustainability. There will be a chance to find out more about For Love of Water and their river sampling programme. There will be stalls selling wood turned items, willow weaving - and local firm Bees and Botanicals are bringing some of their products.

The Green Network is supporting Downton’s River Festival. More information about the River Festival - and future events - will be available on the day.
