Move and Make Music

Three new dates have been released to continue with the "Move and Make Music” programme that began earlier in the year, especially to help Downton residents who are living with memory issues / feeling isolated.  The organisers are looking forward to welcoming back previous participants, but are also hoping to see some new faces.

The sessions will again be run by Liv McLennan and friends - and are scheduled for 14 June, 28 June and 12 July, 10 - 11.30am  at the Sherwood Suite.   In the longer term, it is hoped to run regular Tuesday mornings in the Sherwood Suite.  In addition to the music, the plan is to have a regular coffee morning and then activities on alternative weeks, such as puzzles, crafts, music, reading etc.

This has been made possible because the organisations behind the scheme (Muse CIC and Sounds Better CIC) have received further funding.

Sounds Better provides opportunities for creative music and movement (including circle dancing for health) with a focus on people living with dementia and currently runs time-limited projects across south Wiltshire, including Salisbury city, Downton and Tisbury run on a regular basis. It also provides training in community music approaches, working musically with people with dementia and dementia awareness.
