Downton Band

Gearing up for Christmas

The band is preparing for its busiest time of year, including its usual events and full carolling schedule. The band plans to cover all areas of the village and aims to visit as many residents as possible, depending on weather conditions. Members will gather outside the Co-op on Christmas Eve from 10am, and, in keeping with tradition, will be carolling around the village from 4am on Christmas morning.

Collection buckets will be available during appearances; Downton Band operates as a charity and relies on donations to support its future activities and development.  On Sunday 21 December at 6.30pm, the band will be joined by the Downton Community Choir for a Christmas Concert at St Laurence Church. The band will also attend Charlton-All-Saints church on Tuesday 16 December at 7.30pm for its annual Christmas Concert. On Friday 19 December the band will be at Downton Brewery from 7pm.
