Downton Bowling Club

The 2026 season has a few weeks left to run and club competitions are in full swing, with the finals to be played in early September.

In the Westbrook Mixed Triples League, the Downton team, a mix of novices and experienced players, is currently 6th out of 7 teams, with 5 matches still to play.

Downton finished a close 3rd in the New Forest League (division 4)  just missing out on promotion.

The two teams competing in the Bournemouth & District League (division 4) are currently placed 3rd (The Dragons) and 4th (The Bustards) out of the 10. Both teams have 2 remaining matches and the results will be finalised as this newsletter is published.

The club holds weekly roll-ups every Monday from 2 - 4pm and Friday from 6- 8pm (excluding bank holidays). These are for both experienced players or those who would like to give bowls a try. If you’re considering going along, do remember that there are only a few weeks of the season left.

All equipment, tuition, light refreshments and parking are provided free of charge, and the club would love to see you.
