Downton Cuckoo Fair

This year’s Cuckoo Fair attracted approximately 17,000 visitors and community groups and small businesses were happy to be back fundraising again. The Cuckoo Fair Team would like to find out from participating organisations what proportion of their annual income comes from having a stall at the fair.

The fair relies on volunteers to organise, prepare, and manage the event.  As in previous years, the event incurred increased operating costs, which in 2025 amounted to approximately £43,000. These costs were partially offset through sponsorship, including support from Toomers Ltd and Batt Broadbent Solicitors, the latter sponsoring the production of the event leaflet. The Cuckoo Fair Team will be looking for additional sponsors for 2026.

Over the coming year, there will be several stakeholder sessions, providing an opportunity for businesses, residents, and local organisations to ask questions and provide suggestions. These sessions are planned for October, January, and April, with specific dates and times to be announced via the Cuckoo Fair website and Facebook page.
