Eco event attracts a crowd

Seedy Sunday attracted more than 150 visitors this year, many of whom came along for the first time.

One of the stalls was run by Alison Pritt, local willow weaver.  Alison organised a "Guess the name of the Hare" competition - raising £165 to support the Millennium Green Trust.  Our picture shows the winner, Steve, taking delivery of Poppy the hare.

Lots of seeds and plants went off to new homes, and the event was supported by many different Green Network partners. A spokesperson for the network said "The number of people who came demonstrates that sustainability is high on Downton's agenda.  Thanks to all who came and supported - we're all feeling very encouraged!"
